An teardown/autopsy of a couple of failed LiFePO4 Battery cells. The home-made battery pack for my ebike developed a bulge so I decided to take it apart and see what had happened inside it. One of the cells inside had balooned up and it's next door neighbour was slightly swollen too. When the battery on my mobile 'died' recently I was slightly curious as to why it still worked, but with limited capacity. I wanted to know what had happened inside the failed LiFePO4 cells and decided to do a pull them apart and see what was had happened to the internals. Usual disclaimers apply: I tried not to kill myself when I made this video, but that doesn't in any way mean that it's a good idea to copy anything I did. It is entirely possible that I've done something very stupid and dangerous whilst I was making this video, so check your own facts, make your own decisions and don't just copy me.
