How To Stay Cool In The House Without Resorting To Using An Air Conditioner

If you're not a fan of air conditioning like I am, you'll find that it is relatively easy to stay cool in a house during a hot summer without resorting to air conditioning and there are some benefits.

To get started you will need the following item:

1. Window fan
2. Extenision cord (optional)

That's it!

Once you have the items, you'll need to locate a window at the highest part of the house. Now you'll need to open the window and insert window fan on the top half of the window. The closer it is to the ceiling, the better it will work.

Now locate the lowest part of the house with a window that is shaded and open that window just a slight to allow your finger to fit through. The lower it is, the better it will be. A basement window is a good example.

Now you need to turn window fan on high and expell the air outside. As the hot air and humidity is drawn outside, it creates low pressure inside the house and draws in real fresh air from outside unlike airconditioning which just recirculates stale air.

Even when the outside temprature is 90 degrees, you'll still be cool and comfortable.

If you have access to some copper tubes, hoses and a pool or a large tank of water, you can super cool the house down even further by submerging copper tubes in the water with one end outside exposed to the air and the other going into the lower part of the house. As air is drawn through the copper tubes, the water will draw heat out of the warm air thus cooling it down. By the time the air gets to the house it is already chilled.
