In 1999, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services filed for a patent for the use of cannabinoids for medicinal purposes. Also in 1999, HHS filed for a second patent, specifically for cannabis oil for the treatment of disease. Since the people of the world have started discovering the numerous benefits of CBD citizens of the US have petitioned The Department Of Justice & the Drug Enforcement Administration to reschedule cannabis to a schedule II drug; this was denied on Jul 19th, 2016.
